Default Riposte Tank Help

Can anyone tell me if there is a way and a build for an assassin to beat those riposte tanks who are so full of them selves (no offense to those that arent't)

I'd suggest a deadly arts build, using none attack skills. Things like deadly paradox and expose defences will help you.

Shuuda...if you're not using any attack skills why bother with expose defenses? Autoattacks?

Well arn't those deadly art skills like disrupting dagger or crippling dagger projectiles, so they can be blocked.

theres an elite enchantment under critical strikes (way of the lotus?) that makes you unblockable/evadable for about 20 seconds or something like that.

Shuuda, does stone dagger get blocked? No. Spells cannot be blocked. They can, however, be dodged.

I'm not that creative, and solving problems where there are none ( why kill riposte tanks? ) is not my style.

Their is always a way, riposte may be totaly overpowered, but it's more than beatable. Just don't attack, use spells and touch skills.

Way of the Fox enchantment prevents riposte and block evade from working. It's an elite in Critical strikes. Also expose defenses in deadly arts is non-elite hex that does the same. Have disrupting dagger ready for heal sig. I usually ignore riposte lamers till the end. I snare them with siphon speed and go about my business.

I have an excellent riposte tank, and i have been killing like 350 noobs sins, more or less, the main problem with the riposte build, it's not how to evade the riposte, or how to break the stances used, it's how to avoid the healing of the warrior. I recommend a simple skill to avoid that. Use ignorance on a riposte warrior, and he will be in trouble for the right healing, and use whatever you want to kill those warriors.

But be creatives, take a look at all beautiful skills under tactics line, and there is not only ripostes, there are some stances like balanced stance, shield stance and disciplined stance.

A sin/mesmer can do the job, if the riposte warrior is not too smart.

Regards

Riposte is totaly overpowered, because even if you bypass the defence of it, it still does damage to you, and it's blocks IW aswell. They should ether make riposte a stance, so they get owned by wild blow, or make it so the target takes no damage if they bypass the defence of it. But, like I keep saying, deadly arts is your best bet.

blackdocter, any class can take any build down all the time. Just letting you know that. You're right. I love to interrupt healing signet with hoto or web of disruption!

Personally I just avoid them. There are usually better targets to take down than warriors in most situations. If he is the only one left and you're alone, why are you alone?

Yes you are right, but there are some classes more suitable to face another classes. Personally i have a sin and really enjoy to play with it, i am apologuize if i offend you with the sentence "noobs sin", the main problem is that many of these sins, made a bad fame for all the sins.

I prefer ignorance instead of another way of disrupting, because the tank usually goes with shield stance or disciplined stance, when he tries to use healing signet, that's the main point of ignorance, it's really hard to interrupt the healing signet. I've been facing some riposte warriors with the old crippling shot poision build and it's the same problem, they used stances all the time, and ignorance had better results.

Best Regards.

Why bother hitting riposte tanks? Just leave them alone and kill their enite team while they sit and wait patiently for something to attack them.

If it's a 1v1 situation, you could just not bother with taking daggers (ripostes don't work against bows) or just use a bunch of deadly arts and such.

Well, first off, I dunno why you'd want to attack them. That's a point already made...Unless you want to win in a dual. If that's the case, don't fight them. Piss em off. Go /Mo, put 12 in Smiting and spam Pacifism on them.

Other than that yeah, they're pretty weak. If it's in an AB or other battle, they rely on melee characters to hit them. In otherwords, they're relying on stupidity, as their build is pretty crumby (it's sad how effective I've seen it sometimes, though).

Best strategy is to, as previously stated, avoid them. Anyone else can take them down.

Oh, you're right, there are noobsins out there, even on this forum. And doesn't crippling shot go through block/evade?

Yes crippling shot go trough any stance, the main problem with the riposte tank is the healing signet, savage shot and distracting shot, most of the time fails, because the tank use shield stance, disciplined stance, or another stance (), and you can be fighting hours in a scrimmage vs the tank, surely he is poisoned, but he is healing itself a lot, you can use rust to slow his healing signet, but my best bet is ignorance.

Best Regards
